Michael Bey is heading the development of low carbon hydrogen products in the Americas for ExxonMobil’s Low Carbon Solutions business. In this role, Michael is currently overseeing the development and pursuit of a portfolio of low carbon Hydrogen and Ammonia opportunities across the US, Canada and the rest of the Americas. The Hydrogen is intended for domestic use as well as for potential export opportunities globally. Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston in 1998 and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University in 2003. Michael joined Exxon Mobil Corporation at Dallas headquarters as a Senior Financial Advisor in 2003.  Michael subsequently worked in a variety of financial, commercial, technical, and operational roles of increasing responsibility in the U.S., Middle East and Asia. In 2021, Michael joined ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions in Houston, Texas as Venture Executive to establish the foundation for a low carbon Hydrogen business and for a Carbon Transportation and Storage business in the greater Houston area. Since then, Michael’s scope has expended to cover the development of low carbon Hydrogen opportunities across the Americas. That includes the blue Hydrogen and Ammonia complex in Houston, which is expected to produce around 1 billion cubic feet per day of blue Hydrogen. Michael is married, has two children and is now based in Houston.
