Prior to founding Copernic, Jacob was an Investment Manager for BASF Venture Capital, where he headed the Boston office, sourcing and managing investments related to current and future businesses of BASF. He has worked at the intersection of chemistry and entrepreneurship for over a decade, interacting with multiple startups in a variety of roles at BASF and Lux Research. Jacob received his Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University.

    Copernic Catalysts | Transforming Ammonia Production

    Copernic Catalysts is a Boston-area startup, backed by Future Ventures and The Engine and the recipient of a prestigious ARPA-E Open 2021 award, that leverages a proprietary computational platform to design novel catalysts for sustainable fuel production. This presentation will introduce Copernic's drop-in catalyst for ammonia synthesis that will function at reduced temperatures and pressures to improve the economics and carbon intensity of all colors of ammonia.
